One of the deepest and most striking aspects of the Games Workshop Hobby is the camaraderie of sharing the experience with others. Around the world hundreds of thousands of players meet in our Games Workshop Hobby Centres, in their homes and at clubs to hone and test their skills as military commanders.
Hobby Centres and battle bunkersGames Workshop Hobby Centres are special places! Staffed and run by teams of enthusiastic Games Workshop gamers, they are totally dedicated to the Hobby. Beginners are welcomed in and given the chance to try out a game of Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 or The Lord of the Rings to see if it’s for them, whilst veteran gamers use the special Battle Bunkers and Gaming Rooms as a place to meet, paint and model and to challenge each other’s armies.
WebsiteOur website is a must for anyone passionate about the Hobby. With a fan base aged 12 and upwards the web is an ideal place to buy everything needed for the Hobby or keep up to date on new releases, rules and events and get hobby tips from the experts. Games Workshop also moderates specialist forums giving gamers the chance to ask questions and discuss what sort of things they would like to see produced.
White DwarfWhite Dwarf is Games Workshop's very own monthly Hobby magazine, published in 5 different languages and seven different editions around the world. It’s one of the businesses most effective marketing tools. Every issue is packed with new rules, hobby tips and details of the latest Citadel Miniatures to be released as well as exciting articles and features that keep gamers up-to-date with what's going on in the Hobby in their part of the world.
Events and tournamentsPutting on huge Hobby events is one of Games Workshop’s major community building activities. In 2006/7 Paris, Cologne, Toronto, Atlanta, Chicago, Barcelona, and Birmingham all played host to Games Day and the Golden Demon modelling and painting competition – the biggest events in the Hobby calendar. These, combined with Tournaments and Open Days at Warhammer World – the massive Nottingham based gaming arena – give thousands of gamers the opportunity to immerse themselves totally in their Hobby.
Clubs and outridersThe Games Workshop Club network is a collaboration between Games Workshop and a group of dedicated enthusiasts that aims to help Games Workshop Hobbyists to find independent gaming clubs near them and find new opponents to play. Outriders are committed Games Workshop enthusiasts who donate their time, effort and imagination to help further the Games Workshop Hobby all over North America and as well as in some of our other territories. Both groups are as passionate about growing the Hobby as the company’s staff.
