Supplier Development Policy

Ethics Statement of Intent

We at Games Workshop recognise, as the market leader in our sector, that we have a major role to play in promoting ethical values in business. We declare that we will aim to source and manage our suppliers in ways that are ethically feasible and to provide appropriate support and information to all our staff in every country of our business.

Sourcing Production Suppliers

There are a series of stages that each supplier must pass through prior to approval for supply to Games Workshop, some of which include: -

· All new suppliers are provided a Supplier Information Pack. This pack informs the supplier of the key GW contact details, delivery and labelling requirements, financial needs, terms and conditions etc. If the supplier is unable to comply with such needs, then potential business is placed on hold pending satisfactory resolution.

· A Supplier Questionnaire is provided for completion; this form requests many personnel details that Games Workshop needs reassurance of.

· Whenever feasible, a member of the Supplier Development team will visit the supplier factory concerned, and take careful note of working conditions, employee demeanour, site services and infrastructure, etc. If, following the site review, the buyer is unhappy with the ethical principles being demonstrated, GW will not purchase any goods until the issues raised are adequately addressed.

At least annually, a member of the Games Workshop Supplier Development team will endeavour to visit and review all key suppliers; not only to discuss performance and improvements but also to ensure the following requirements are not being compromised: -

Equal Opportunities/Non-Discrimination

Games Workshop is committed to equal opportunities and non-discrimination. Suppliers who demonstrate that they do not share these principles will not be considered for supply. We aim to make sure that no supplier or their employees are less favourably treated on the grounds of their gender, marital status, colour, age, disability, race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation and that no one is disadvantaged by conditions, requirements or practices which are unable to be demonstrated as just and fair.

Child Labour

Games Workshop products have a direct link with young people and wish to promote their well-being and development at all times. Under NO circumstances will Games Workshop knowingly deal with any supplier who advocates the use of child labour outside of the requirements of under 16 years.

Forced Labour

Games Workshop is committed to its customer’s fun and entertainment and will not consider dealing with suppliers who force any person into labour.

Health and Safety

The Health and Safety of all Games Workshop employees is a key priority. This care extends to the employees of those suppliers manufacturing products for us. Particular attention is taken when considering direct supply from non-OECD countries. Games Workshop requires factory workers to be treated with dignity and respect. We also require them to work in a safe and healthy environment.

Minimum Wage

In countries where clear requirements for minimum wages are stated, Games Workshop will try to ensure these are being adhered to. In the remaining countries the buyer will make an assessment as to whether the suppliers employees are being exploited; this however will be subjective.

Working hours

In countries where clear requirements for working hours are stated, Games Workshop will try to ensure these are being adhered to. In the remaining countries, the buyer will make an assessment as to whether the supplier’s employees are being exploited, this however will be subjective.

Disciplinary Procedures

It is a requirement for all suppliers to have an official and fair disciplinary procedure.

The Environment

Games Workshop is committed to minimise the environmental impact of any of its products and takes great care to recycle internal wastes and to use materials that are recyclable wherever possible. Our environmental policy will be made publicly available.

To demonstrate our commitment, this policy will be made publicly available on our Internet site.
