Our Staff
We have implemented initiatives, as part of our Group operational plan, to support and encourage our staff to help us achieve our goals.
We are passionate about our culture at Games Workshop where everyone is focused on doing the right thing for the company. We are all working to ensure that we conduct our business in a safe, supportive manner. This is really important if we are to be around forever.
The people we choose to work with must also share a common set of values and beliefs and recognise that compassion towards each other and appreciation of individual efforts in a team is what helps us deliver consistent results.
Their passion for the Warhammer hobby and their ability to engage with our broad customer base is part of what makes Games Workshop so engaging and successful. Ensuring that the people who support our business are treated fairly and provided with all the necessary tools and support they need to get on with growing our business is a responsibility we take very seriously.
Health and Safety
We take the health and safety of our staff seriously. Doing things in a safe manner is a fundamental principle of how we do business. We will always comply with all applicable legal requirements as a minimum, and wherever we can, we will aim for a higher standard.
Kevin Rountree, our CEO, supported by senior management, has overall accountability for meeting these standards through the provision and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, training, supervision, equipment and facilities. At the same time, we expect each and every employee to play their part in safety - it is the responsibility of us all to work together to both implement these standards, and to identify opportunities for improvements.
To help achieve the aims set out in the CEO's statement Games Workshop has a Health and Safety management system in which staff at all levels throughout the business understand how they contribute to that system;
Top Level Commitment: Our Board, CEO and senior management that take full accountability for health and safety across the business. Our CEO and senior management are actively involved; setting standards and ensuring their managers have both the necessary resources, and their full support, to effectively implement what is needed.
Management Ownership: Managers at every level take responsibility for health and safety - putting into place the measures required, reviewing performance and escalating when more needs to be done to meet the standards set by senior management.
Central Support: A Health and Safety Team who provide advice, support, guidance, auditing and reporting functions across the business.
All Staff: Staff across the business, in every role who;
take reasonable care of themselves and others whose safety they could affect
follow established procedures and training, asking for help or further instruction if their skill, experience, knowledge (or similar) are not adequate to do the job safely
report safety hazards promptly and in the appropriate manner
communicate opportunities for improvement with their manager or other appropriate person
Wellbeing and Support
The wellbeing of our staff is a priority for Games Workshop. Every member of our global team is able to access comprehensive wellbeing information and support through the My GamesWorkshop hub. We’ve recently increased this support further in the UK, introducing mental health first aiders, and will continue to look at how we can better support our staff wherever they may be in the globe.
We regularly review our pay and benefits offering which allows us to continue to recruit and retain world class staff. It is our intention to pay people fairly for the job they do. We do this by benchmarking all jobs regularly and by understanding the value a given job drives for Games Workshop.
All staff, customers and suppliers have access to our global whistleblowing platform. We actively promote this communication route which allows everyone the opportunity to submit concerns about Games Workshop and how we do business.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion
Diversity plays an important role in helping us to make more informed decisions about our business through the sharing of a variety of perspectives and insights. We report on a range of diversity and employment metrics:
Gender split for the Board
Gender split for the senior management
Gender split for all employees
Ethnicity split for the Board
Ethnicity split for senior management
Ratio of CEO’s pay to the median, lower quartile and upper quartile pay of UK employees
Anti-Slavery
We are committed to acting ethically to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place within our operations.

We conduct a risk assessment of the business at least every 12 months for the purpose of monitoring compliance with anti-slavery requirements, and to ensure we have adequate controls in place to manage any risks appropriately. The main areas of our business that we have identified as being at an elevated risk of exposure to potential instances of slavery are the: Buying & Merchandising, Licensing, Distribution, and People Teams of Games Workshop. The risks associated with those areas of the business mostly stem from a failure to conduct an appropriate amount of due diligence when working with third parties - particularly in regions where instances of slavery may be more prevalent. As such, we use a combination of Sedex and ICTI assessment and certification to help us evaluate suppliers and other external parties that we work with and ensure proper anti-slavery and child labour controls are in place throughout our supply chain.
There were no reported breaches of our anti-slavery policies during the most recent financial year.
Anti-Bribery & Corruption
Honesty, Courage and Humility are the foundations of the Games Workshop culture. Bribery and corrupt practices are never tolerated in the pursuit of our business objectives or relationships. This commitment is driven from the CEO and Board throughout the entire company and the same commitment is expected of all those who work with us.
Each year we conduct a risk assessment for the purpose of monitoring compliance with anti-bribery and corruption requirements, and to help us make sure we have adequate controls in place. The main areas of our business that we have identified as being at an elevated risk of exposure to instances of bribery and corruption are the operations of Games Workshop in Asia and wholesale distribution territories; as well as the Logistics, Buying & Merchandising, Marketing, Licensing, and Trade operations of Games Workshop. As with child labour and slavery, the risks associated with those areas of the business mostly stem from a failure to conduct an appropriate amount of due diligence when working with third parties - particularly in regions where standards of what constitutes bribery differ to the UK. As such, we use a combination of Sedex and ICTI assessment and certification to help us evaluate suppliers and other external parties that we work with and ensure proper anti-bribery and corruption controls are in place throughout our supply chain.
During the most recent financial year, we updated our Anti-Bribery & Corruption training to help improve the accessibility for our staff. During this period there were no reported instances of bribery or corruption.
